Rick knows at least as much about FrameMaker as I do.

This page is dedicated to the Adobe® FrameMaker® software, which my department uses to produce over 20,000 pages of documentation describing the company's computer system.
I have added the following enhancements for my various departments to use with the FrameMaker software to speed the processes they need to perform.
I have also customized FrameMaker to remove certain items.
I removed buttons and key commands for making text bold, italicized, etc. to make sure that we didn't have character overrides in our documents.
I made the Paragraph Designer, Character Designer, and Table Designer unavailable unless you know the key command that I created for opening each of these. I had some writers who insisted on modifying template tags or creating their own tags, so, as a drastic step, I removed access to the designers in a last-ditch effort to keep our files free of overrides. If they try the usual key commands for opening a designer, an information message appears rather than the designer.
I produced a FrameMaker Tips document to make my department more productive when using FrameMaker.
When my department converted about 15,000 pages from Word to FrameMaker, I created a guide for our Frame newbies to follow. (The guide includes some references to a few of the plug-ins that I mention above.)
